Enrichment co-ops within the Catholic Church are collaborative educational and spiritual programs that support families and ministries through shared resources, formation, and community. Most are homeschool enrichment co-ops: community-based groups, often affiliated with a parish or diocese, where families volunteer to teach classes, organize field trips, and share the educational workload while building lasting friendships.
Catholic co-ops provide affordable, academically enriching instruction in subjects like art, science, apologetics, and history, often integrating daily Mass and liturgical feast gatherings to reinforce the family’s vocation as the primary educators of their children. Many use a unit-study approach or a la carte class selection to serve students of varying ages.
SJEC is a homeschool community for grades K-8, with nursery care included for younger siblings. We meet on Fridays from August through May.
